About Us:

The concept for a series of music programs and CDs began to gel in 2000 with a desire as a recreation therapist to put down my guitar and incorporate more movement into my therapeutic music programs. Recording a CD of songs led to the realization that anyone could lead a music program if provided with the appropriate tools.

In 2002 the “professional” edition of Songs We Remember: Music without Musicians was released. This therapeutic music manual, program guide and CD make it possible for therapeutic recreation professionals without existing music skills to deliver a therapeutic music program to older adults—especially those affected by dementia. A fourth set is now being developed and will be released soon.

A growing need for personal resources has led to the development of a new manual. In 2009 a “personal” edition of Songs We Remember: Music without Musicians will be released. It is my hope that whether family, friends, companions, or pastoral care workers utilize this edition, it will act as a bridge that will assist in connecting people with those they love and support.

Sincerely,
Alison Demeter Rec. T®
